The 1st Somerset Strikers head for Dustball to recruit additional pilots. They only find Valten Ryder who works for the local crimelord Tybus to pay off his fathers debt. The plans of the the vicious crimelord to work with the clans do not work out and so the Strikers have to fight the Clans for the first time.
